MSX Signs MOU with MEIRA

Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) in its endeavor to promote IR global best practice among its issuers signs the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MEIRA (The Middle East Investor Relation Association) in a ceremony that took place in MSX trading hall on Sunday the 20th of November 2022 Mr. Haitham Al Salmi (CEO- MSX) & Mr. John Gollifer (General Manager – MEIRA) signed and exchanged the MOU in attendance of market participants and issuers.

According to the MOU Oman IR Chapter was revived while placing MSX in a leading Role and Syeda Tabinda Bukhari a Certified MSX IRO (Investor Relations Officer) was assigned as the head of the Oman IR chapter.

The Middle East Investor Relations Association is a non-for profit organization promoting Investor Relations best practice in the Middle East especially among regional exchanges and their issuers such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Dubai, Palestine and Oman.

MEIRA’s approach is to initiate and accelerate local IR Chapters in regional capital markets and develop expertise by provide access to a wide variety of programs, training and Certification, the most prominent of which being CIRO certification which is an internationally recognized qualification for IROs in the world, in partnership with UK IR Society.

MSX considers this collaboration with MEIRA as a strategic partnership, where it brings international benchmarks and a best practice toolkit to support the listed companies and develop the quality of companies’ performance in the market.

Under this MOU MSX takes a more leading role in supporting the market participants and continuing MSX’s journey towards creating a culture of sustainable investments that aligns with Oman Vision 2040.
