Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Financial Academy (FA) is delighted to announce the signing of an agreement with the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) to provide the Certified Investor Relations Officer (CIRO) programme to the Saudi market at the FA’s exam centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Abha Starting from Monday November 16th, 2020. The CIRO is based on the UK IR Society’s International Certificate in Investor Relations, a widely used standard for Investor Relations (IR) in many markets.
Mr. Mana Alkhamsan, Director General of FA, and Mr. John Gollifer, General Manager of MEIRA, signed the agreement that will enable the Investor Relations Officers (IROs) in the Kingdom to develop their skills and get recognized with a global certification in IR. The course will also offer the young professionals the opportunity to develop their careers in IR by learning all the key elements to run a successful IR function, including market-specific topics such as reporting and regulation.
Mr. Mana Alkhamsan, Director General of FA, explained that this version of the CIRO Programme has been developed for use in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To do this, various parties, including the Capital Market Authority (CMA), Tadawul, the FA and MEIRA, have collaborated to ensure that the CIRO Programme 2020 reflects the necessary contents of operating in the regulatory environment of the Kingdom.
He also said the FA will be an exclusive exam center to host the CIRO in the Kingdom. Thus, in line with the FA’s role in providing preparation-training courses for this certificate, the FA and MEIRA will provide the necessary training courses for the CIRO as well.
John Gollifer, the General Manager of MEIRA, said: “It is an honour to be entering into this exclusive agreement with The Financial Academy to customize the CIRO certificate to the needs of the Saudi market. MEIRA looks forward to supporting this exciting initiative in the Kingdom.”
The Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the Investor Relations (IR) profession and international standards in corporate governance.
