Bahrain Bourse Holds Workshop on the importance of sustainability and Investor Relations for its listed companies

Bahrain Bourse held a workshop on sustainability and Investor Relations (IR) solutions on 17th September 2019 as part of its efforts to promote IR best practice in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The workshop was attended by more than 30 representatives from listed companies along with the Middle East Investor Relations Association “MEIRA” Bahrain Chapter members.
The workshop highlighted the importance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure in meeting growing investors’ demands for listed companies during a presentation conducted by Darin Rovere, Founder and CEO at Sustainability Excellence. . The event also included a short introduction on IR digital solutions presented by Abdo Khoury, Head of Institutional Business at DirectFN, to shed light on the importance of IR platforms in communicating effectively with the investment community. The workshop was concluded by an open discussion addressing questions from the attendees.
Marwa AlMaskati, Director of Marketing & Business Development and MEIRA – Bahrain Chapter Head said: “To build upon our recent collaboration with MEIRA, Bahrain Bourse is planning to roll-out a series of workshops on various topics related to Investor Relations, all of which aim to raise awareness of the importance of effective investor relations and the value it adds to listed companies.”
John Gollifer, General Manager of MEIRA said: “With the roll-out of a series of workshops in collaboration with Bahrain Bourse, we are keen to see greater interest in the IR field in Bahrain going in line with the efforts of regional market regulators and stock exchanges to promote the implementation of the IR function among listed companies.”
It is worth noting that Bahrain Bourse and MEIRA have officially launched the MEIRA Chapter in Bahrain during April 2019 with the aim of developing and enhancing best practice in IR and corporate governance across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
