MEIRA 8th Annual Conference - Awards

Thursday, September, 22, 2016
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The rapid professionalization of investor relations, corporate reporting and overall governance across the Middle East was reflected in both the quality and volume of entries for the 2016 Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) awards, the only dedicated investor relations (IR) event in the region, held in Dubai yesterday.
The 8th MEIRA annual conference focused on the forward shift in MENA towards a new vision beyond oil and featured its annual awards ceremony recognizing best practice among IR industry professionals and companies in the Middle East.
The awards were presented to four regional winners and two country-specific winners who demonstrated continuous and exceptional efforts in raising IR standards.
Since 2008, MEIRA has been committed to promoting best practice across the region, working continuously with local authorities and listed companies to develop a resilient and transparent environment that will attract and retain international investment.
Through the global benchmark assessors Extel, Merchant Cantos and Comprend, MEIRA maintains a rigorous selection process that recognises outstanding performers across the region.
MEIRA Chairman, Alex MacDonald Vitale said: "The Middle East Investor Relations Association awards, based on independent industry voting and reviews, honour individuals and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in IR, conveyed through consistently high standards of transparency, reporting, access and engagement.
“Over the past eight years, we have seen standards improve immeasurably, and we are delighted to honour the individuals and organisations who have demonstrated the most commitment and contribution to fostering IR across the Middle East”
